Kali Knife and Kali Sikaran Daga

Kali Knife is called Daga in the Kali Sikaran training programs. It's built up around principles and strategies for risk minimisation in edged weapon encounters. There's a lot of blade material out there that demonstrates fancy kill techniques and that is part of the art. 

But out of a selfdefence perspective it can be to much focus on just one side of the coin. Your practise should be aligned with your main objective that normally is different if you are a civilian or in a tactical function.

The Kali Sikaran Knife Program has been taught to law enforcements, tactical units and instructors all over the world. There's also specific courses that's adjusted to the main objectives:

• Basic Knife Defence
• Advanced Knife Defence
• Tactical Knife

Kali Sikaran Solo Baston and Kali Sticks

Solo Baston is the same as Kali Sticks in the Kali Sikaran programs. It's an important fundamental block that teaches the practitioner how to defend themself with an impact weapon. In some styles there's a lot of focus on the equivalence to a machete which was the main focus traditionally. Practise with the stick and go to war with the real thing.

Today it's still a valid aspect but we also want to address and learn how to use and defend against iron bars, baseball bats etc. Check out this video from the archives to see some examples.

Kali Sikaran Overview by Punong Guro J Skalberg

Kali Empty Hand Mix - Halo Halo

 Here's a mixed video from the archives with different Kali Empty Hand blocks in Kali Sikaran. There are three Kali Empty Hand blocks that are called Kadena de Mano, Panantukan and Sikaran in Kali Sikaran.

They are designed for different ranges and are merged together when the practitioner have enough experience.
